In the agriculture, fisheries and forestry sector, research, development, technology transfer and adoption has helped Australian rural industries DOUBLE PRODUCTIVITY OVER THE PAST 25 YEARS while also improving environmental performance and responding to changing social expectations.
These gains have been driven by the 15 RURAL RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CORPORATIONS (RDCS), which cover virtually all of Australia’s agricultural industries.
The RDCs are national service bodies focused on ensuring Australia’s rural industries are PROFITABLE, SUSTAINABLE AND COMPETITIVE.
The Council of Rural Research and Development Corporations (CRRDC) brings the 15 RDCs together to work on issues of common interest. The Council works on behalf of all RDCs to PROMOTE AND STRENGTHEN AUSTRALIA’S HIGHLY REGARDED RURAL RDC MODEL, the research, development, extension and marketing investments being made, and the benefits delivered.
The RDCs work together to progress common issues and COLLABORATE on complex problems.
